ISRAEL PM Forbids Jews from Visiting AL-Aqso Mosque Until Ramadhan Ends

Indonesia — Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, officially banned Jews from visiting the Temple Mount, a holy site which is also called the Al Aqsa Mosque complex, starting Wednesday (12/4/23 ) until Ramadan ends. As reported by The Times of Israel, Netanyahu’s office announced this decision on Tuesday, in the midst of tension after Israel was “beaten” by various camps due to the police attack on Al Aqsa Mosque last week. Netanyahu said the decision was taken on the recommendation of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Armed Forces Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, intelligence chief Ronen Bar and Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai. However, Netanyahu also ordered security agencies to have enough troops on standby to guard the Wailing Wall which is under the Temple Mount so that Jews can still visit. This decision was taken shortly after Hamas released a statement calling on Palestinians to occupy the Al Aqsa compound and not leave until the end of Ramadan. They also warned Israelis not to visit the Jewish holy sites in the complex, which often trigger friction during Ramadan. The Al Aqsa Mosque complex or Temple Mount is indeed one of the holy sites for Jews. Orthodox rabbis have long prohibited Jews from visiting the Temple Mount, considering the site too holy.
